Never lose an opportunity of seeing anything beautiful, for beauty is God’s handwriting. Ralph Waldo Emerson
Are we not all born to see? Travelling and seeing new places is always appealing to us all. So when we announced that we would take our Pevensey Residents to the Royal Show in Pietermaritsburg, 95% of them wanted to make the trip!!
The royal Show, Organised by The Royal Agricultural Society of Natal was held on the 26th of May to the 4th of June this year. When its Royal Show time Pietermaritsburg gets abuzz with activity, with people going to spend some time and to see exhibitions. This year we took the Residents so they could also enjoy.
On arrival, we made our entrance and then broke into several teams, each of which was under the leadership of a staff member. And off the teams went, in their separate ways, to see what the exhibition had to offer. The weather was perfect, and to say the Residents had fun would be to understate. They absolutely love being a part of this Royal Show.
We thank Mr and Mrs Mattson for making funds available to Pevensey, which contributed to this trip.
After all our seeing and shopping was done, we all gathered at the Pietermaritsburg Roundtable Eating area and were treated to some lunch. Thank you Pietermaritsburg Round Table, your kind hearts are so astounding. The service was so superb. and we also thank Mr Barry Cole of the Sani Round Table for organising this lunch for us. We can never thank them enough for all they do for Pevensey Place.
