Some days are just made in heaven.

Kath Boast, Julie Hay, Ashleigh and Alex Robertson contacted Pevensey Place with a view to attend our Annual Swimming Gala which was to be held on the 12th of February.  due to wet weather conditions, we could not hold the event on that day and had to schedule. The 19th of March was settled on. Kath Boast and the Swim Chix (…and a chap) obliged to make the trip from Howick and attend the event as our guests of honor.

The wait for the 19th of March was agonizingly long, but days made way and eventually it was Sunday Morning March 19 . The Swim Chix and a Chap arrived and immediately mingled with the residents. Smiles and hugs filled the air as a prelude to what was to be a heart warming day.

We thank the Swim Chix and a Chap, for adding spice to our gala, for the countless  times they took turns to jump in and participate in races as “ghosts” instead of guests. It was a joy and such a great pleasure to be a part of this awesome event. To the Residents it was truly something to cherish. Some days are indeed made in Heaven. We had angels in our midst. And we had lots of fun.

Congratulations to the Tadpoles for a wonderful display. Their points total of 152 could not be bettered by any of the other two teams; The Sharks came second with a total of 126, and the Dolphins managed a respectable 102.

Thanks to Parents and Visitors who came to cheer our heroes on.

The winners on the day were all the people who  came up to witness this memorable event. Nothing beats the joy of genuine friendships. A light was shinning so brightly on the Pevensey Place.

Why else would it not shine on us, we had special Guests from the east, who came to share their valuable time with us, share our hour of glory with us.

The Swimming gala event is of such great importance to Pevensey Place. We get the opportunity to showcase how able and talented our Residents are, in spite of all the limitations around us,  and also create an environment of belonging to a team. To then have people come and help cheer and be a part of it is always special to us.

OUR HEROES HAD THEIR DAY!!! CONGRATULATIONS TADPOLES, CONGRATULATIONS SHARKS AND CONGRATULATIONS DOLPHINS!!!
