Where do all the days go to? January 2019 came and went! Never to be seen or experienced again! Christmas and New year hustles have fizzled out, and we look ahead at what remains of 2019.
To kick start the year was one of our biggest fund-raiser events; The N3TC Drak Challenge, which runs parallel to the Sani Spoors Bike event. This year’s edition was held on 19 and 20 January. We are always thankful to the organisers of these events. We were able to raise about R20 000.00. This always is a welcome cushion against spiky rising cost of living which every organisation has to contend with.
February emerges with her own ideas. This is the month which carries our swimming programme. Swimming is an excellent way to work your entire body and cardiovascular system, and we have events lined up, which motivate residents to take up swimming. We have 11 residents who will take part in the Aquelle Midmar Mile event on Saturday 9 February. We are so proud of the following residents: Samantha Smith, Alison Pattle, Bokkie Russouw, Hilda Gammage, Janine Brindle, Anton Egner, Justin Raw, Elaine Kotze, Udette pretorius, Stuart Seymour and Moira Gray.
Following this prestigious event, we then celebrate our rich friendship with Underberg School by having a swimming event against their grade 6 pupils. This is an annual event which we look forward to with excitement. We will take our swimmers to Underberg School on 12 February.
To sum up our swimming calendar will be our annual gala which will this year be held on Sunday 17th of February. We have invited members of the Swimchix from Howick to grace our event. Sani Round Table will also throw their weights in and have a splash!
We wish all residents well at Midmar, Underberg School and at our inter house swimming gala. Those who can please come up and offer support. Gala starts with tea and cake on Sunday 17th Feb, at 10:00, and lunch will be available afterwards. Please note that we charge R10.00 for lunch. We will also have yummy eggs on sale.
